In this chapter of Harry Potter's magnificent tale, Harry gets sick of his "family" and runs away from home! As he walks randomly through the streets, he encounters a big, scary dog. The dog looks as if he will pounce, but luckily Harry accidentally calls the Knight Bus, a bus only for wizards. While on the bus he finds out there is a killer on the loose! Sirius Black escaped Azkaban, a supposedly inescapable prison! Harry stays in a wizard city in London called Diagon Alley.
Before he leaves for Hogwarts, the father of his best friend, Ron, tells him to stay away from Sirius, no matter what he hears. While on the way to Hogwarts, they get invaded by Dementors, guardians of Azkaban who suc the souls out of humans. For some reason they effect him more than everyone else... Harry loves his new teacher, Mr. Remus Lupin. Lupin teaches Harry a lot about life, like why the Dementors affect him like they do. He also tells Harry he was good friends with his parents.
Since Harry ran away from home, he didn't get his permision slip signed to go to Hogsmead, a wizard village nearby. One day however, he secretly leaves. While hanging out with his friends, he hears someone mention his name. He decides to follow the man to a meeting with a bunch of witches and wizards. They talk about Sirius Black, who Harry finds out was once a friends of his parents, and how he led Voldemort to the Potter family. Harry vows to kill him.
Later on, he gets his chance. When Ron gets abducted by the same dog Harry saw in the beginning of the story, he finds out the dog is Sirius Black! Just as he is about to kill him, Lupin saves Sirius. They explain that Sirius can, like Harry's father, can change from man to animal to help Lupin, a werewolf! They also explain that Sirius was not responsible for the death of Harry's parents, Ron's pet rat was! The rat shows his true form and they decide to turn him in. Just as Sirius invites Harry to live with him, Lupin tranformes and the rat escapes! Sirius tries his best to save them, but loses. Lupin gets distracted and Harry runs to help Sirius, but they get attacked by Dementors! Thankfully they get saved by an unknown man who Harry is sure was his father.
When Harry and his friend Hermione explain to their headmaster what happened, he believes them and gives them a necklace that will help them manipulate time. They use it to help Sirius escape, and Harry, curious as to who saved him, goes to find himself. He watches for a bit, and he realized he was the man who saved himself. He says goodbye to Sirius, who will have to live on the run.
I think that the theme of Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban is do whatever it takes for freinds. When Ron got abducted by a big, ferociuos, scary dog, Harry went to help him without a second thought. When his father and his friends found out Lupin was a werewolf, they did everything they could to help him. When Lupin transformed, Sirius' first thought was to help Harry and his friends. When Sirius was being attacked by Dementors, Harry saved him.
